For a decade, I had the privilege of covering the Texas Rangers from the best seat in the house. As the team's beat writer for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, I had a front-row seat to some of the most memorable moments in Rangers history.

In this book, I share my experiences covering the Rangers, from the highs of World Series appearances to the lows of last-place finishes. I provide an intimate look at the team, its players, and its fans. I also offer my thoughts on the state of the Rangers today and their future prospects.

Whether you're a lifelong Rangers fan or just a casual observer, I hope you enjoy this book. It's a labor of love, and I'm proud to share it with you.

The Early Years

I started covering the Rangers in 2010, the year after they lost the World Series to the San Francisco Giants. The team was in a rebuilding mode, and there wasn't much optimism among fans. But I was excited about the challenge of covering a young team with a lot of potential.

One of the first players I got to know was Elvis Andrus, the team's shortstop. Andrus was a rising star, and I was impressed by his talent and his work ethic. I also got to know Ian Kinsler, the team's second baseman. Kinsler was a veteran player who was known for his leadership and his fiery personality.

In 2011, the Rangers made a surprise run to the World Series. They defeated the Tampa Bay Rays in the ALDS and the Detroit Tigers in the ALCS. In the World Series, they faced the St. Louis Cardinals. The Cardinals won the series in seven games, but the Rangers had made a statement. They were a team on the rise.

The Glory Years

The Rangers continued to improve in 2012, and they won the AL West for the first time since 2010. They defeated the Oakland Athletics in the ALDS and the New York Yankees in the ALCS. In the World Series, they faced the San Francisco Giants again. This time, the Rangers won the series in four games.

The Rangers won the AL West again in 2013 and 2014. They lost in the ALDS both years, but they were still one of the best teams in baseball. In 2015, the Rangers won the AL West for the fourth time in six years. They defeated the Toronto Blue Jays in the ALDS and the Houston Astros in the ALCS. In the World Series, they faced the Kansas City Royals. The Royals won the series in five games.

The Decline

The Rangers missed the playoffs in 2016 and 2017. In 2018, they finished in last place in the AL West. The team was in a rebuilding mode again, and there wasn't much optimism among fans.

The Rangers improved in 2019, but they still finished in last place. In 2020, the Rangers finished in fourth place in the AL West. They were a much-improved team, but they still had a lot of work to do.

The Future

The Rangers have a lot of young talent, and they are hoping to contend for a World Series title soon. They have a solid foundation in place, and they are making progress. I am excited to see what the future holds for the Rangers.

I hope you enjoy this book. It's a labor of love, and I'm proud to share it with you.

Thank you for reading.

Sincerely,

Your Name
